4-Spined Jewel Spiders (Gasteracantha Quadrispinosa)

Gasteracantha quadrispinosa, commonly known as the Four-spined Jewel Spider, is a brightly colored, spiny orb-weaver found in wet forests of Queensland, Australia, and New Guinea. Females are easily recognized by their hard, flat, and often yellow-to-red abdomens featuring four distinctive black spines. They are harmless to humans.
