Camponotus cf lownei (Queens with eggs)

Camponotus cf. lownei is a highly resilient, beginner-friendly Australian carpenter ant species. When a queen is in the founding stage with eggs, she is fully claustral, meaning she relies entirely on her internal energy reserves (from her dissolved wing muscles) to raise her first batch of workers (nanitics). She does not require any food until those first workers emerge.
