The Port Macquarie funnel-web spider, Hadronyche macquariensis, is a venomous species found in New South Wales, Australia, in areas including Port Macquarie, Forster, and Coffs Harbour. Like other funnel-webs, it has a shiny black/dark brown carapace, dark legs, and a dark abdomen, living in burrows with silk trip lines to catch prey. While it has been responsible for serious envenomations, there have been no recorded deaths since the development of anti-venom in the 1980s.
